Clos Bartolomé 1900 is a red wine from the DOQ Priorat, made with Grenache and Carignan from century-old vineyards in the “El Grinyó” plot. Manual harvesting and 16-month aging in French oak barrels bring elegance and complexity.
This red is the last fruit from the centenary vineyards of the Celler Bartolomé. It is a blend of Grenache Noir and Carignan from the 2021 harvest from 120-year-old vineyards.
The whole personality and character of the terroir of the “tros” of “El Grinyó” is the potential and freshness of the red fruits with certain violet tones.
Collection and production
Vineyards planted in 1900 on slopes and with slate terraces. The grapes from the vineyard are harvested by hand, selecting the grapes, and then transported in boxes that do not exceed 15 kg to ensure that they arrive whole, healthy and in optimal conditions for processing.
Fermentation is carried out in an open 800 kg barrel, at a controlled temperature between 20º/22º. It is then transferred to a new French oak barrel for aging for 16 months.

Clos Bartolomé has matured in a 300-liter, medium-toasted, second-year French oak barrel for 16 months.
Wine characteristics
It is an intense cherry-coloured wine, with violet tones on the meniscus. Its aroma is powerful, fruity (very ripe fruits, red berries…), concentrated and mature with balsamic nuances and mineral notes on an oak background that provide light touches of toast and high-quality spices.
In the mouth it is powerful, fleshy, enjoys a certain complexity and is pleasant, voluptuous and well-structured.
The fruit and oak in the boots are well integrated. The tannins are fine and ripe, which, combined with the subtle notes of spices, make it a very fine, elegant and long wine with memories of ripe and concentrated fruit.
